The Postmaster
The action-packed short film “The Postmaster” tells the story of a worker at a post-office syndicate who must fight off his fellow mercenary mailmen to retrieve his dying brother's final letters. Inspired by the action movies they watched with their dads growing up, Jonny Harmon, James Chiang, and Matt Yen wanted to push themselves by crafting a stunt-filled film that their 12 year-old selves would be stoked about. As the senior thesis film of James and Matt’s, they poured so much time and effort into this project that reflects the value of family and the danger of vengeance. The collaboration of the 95+ cast and crew is the only thing that made this film possible, and we’re so excited for everyone to see how their hard work paid off!
About the films
The Last Bonaparte
Inspired by GK Chesterton's 1904 novel "The Napoleon of Notting Hill," The Last Bonaparte follows a disillusioned bureaucrat in a near-future dystopia who launches a revolution in the name of rediscovering what it means to be human. This film focuses on themes of friendship, expression, and discerning what is true. We hope you enjoy this tender and thoughtful story which seeks to ask the question "what does it mean to live well?" As Nick Bash's senior thesis film, his hope was to partner with dear friends and collaborators to tell a story that dialogues with lessons he has learned through CMA and the Torrey Honors College.
